Kusshi Oysters

I first came across the Kusshi a few years ago at the Swan Oyster Depot-my favorite place for oysters, cherry stone clams, crab & perfect cup of clam chowder in San Francisco. Kusshis are sooooooo good, I would often walk over to Swan and have them for breakfast (best time to go to avoid the crowd.)

Kusshi means "ultimate" in Japanese and they really are - not too big & not too small like the Kumamoto. They have a deep cupped shell and the oyster is plump and meaty, mineraly & sweet. Kusshis are cultured in British Columbia.

Les Mignardises

I love sweet gifts from Japan. This one is almost too pretty to eat but very delicious mini bites of macaroon
arranged in gradients of white to brown:

chocolate blanc à la lavande
café crème
caramel à la vanille
caramel salé
41% cocao
chocolat à la rose
66% cacao
72% cacao
80% cacao

Find your passion

I was recently invited to take part of the launch of a new line of Moleskine notebooks, "Moleskine Passions".

Moleskine unveils Moleskine Passions, a new thrilling collection of journals with an inspiring exhibition: “share the loves of your life”.

The Moleskine Passions Exhibition focuses on the 6 themes of the new collection of journals: Book, Film, Music, Recipe, Wellness and Wine. It creates a unique cultural exchange with the exclusive participation of creative talents, celebrities and icons from the whole region.

Over 150 specialists and celebrities in Asia share the loves of their life and reveal their creativity through notes, drawing, clipping…The passions notebooks created by the participants are showcased in over 60 spots in 12 Asian cities. And you can now view all the contributors' passions on the online gallery at the Moleskine Asia website.

This is my contribution to the exhibition. The exhibition will travel across the region, stopping in major bookshops such as Dymocks, Kinokuniya, PageOne, and other chains throughout the region. So if you're in the neighborhood...pop in, take a look and find your passion!
