Juba Tenshin creates functional and decorative ceramics from his home-studio in the quiet mountainside of Kobe, Japan.

Every piece is hand-formed, not cast resulting in a one-of-a-kind shape. To finish, patterns are formed from liquid mud “slip” that is poured onto the surface or combed through with pine needles collected from Juba’s backyard.

Rice straws and chestnut husks are some of the ingredients repurposed into ash in Juba's kiln to create ash glaze which adds a smooth, glassy “gloss” finish to some of his pieces.

Chariots on Fire exclusively represents Juba Tenshin in the USA.

One-of-a-kind. Perfectly imperfect. Irregularities are consistent with Juba’s Work.

Handwash only. Food-safe.
