Makoto Kagoshima x Chariots on Fire for Christopher Farr
Makoto Kagoshima x Chariots on Fire is a collaboration between Makoto Kagoshima and Ritsuko Yagi, Director of Chariots on Fire.
Evolved across a near-decade of exhibition history, theirs is an inspired, intention-driven partnership which works to extend the joys inherent to Kagoshima’s work beyond the artist’s customary medium of clay.
Together, they seek to cultivate new ways by which Kagoshima’s expressions may not only take form, but flourish. “We want to continue to honor the technique of the hand across medium and material,” explains Yagi. Through a broad embrace of one-of-a-kind artisanship, they expand the bounds of Kagoshima’s distinct, illustrative gestures—making fuller and more encompassing the vivid, dream-like world that is Kagoshima’s creation.
