Chariots on Fire introduces:

Rhodochrosite

Incan belief claims that rhodochrosite carries the life-blood of former rulers, preserved within and pulsating through the stone. Evolved over millennia from a concentration of manganese carbonate, rhodochrosite is immediately distinguished by its rivulets of vivid, banded color.  Its name derives from the Greek word rhodokhros, which translates as rose-colored.
