Asuka Juba creates to enrich the art of daily living. Her work distills harmony into forms and colors that cut through the noise, embracing the freshness of seasonal fruit, prepared meals, and the subtle textures of space. With a stripped-back elegance and an instinct for home, her practice finds beauty in what’s often overlooked.

Asuka’s white glaze is a blank canvas—shifting between warm and cool tones, matte and glossy finishes, and occasionally brushed with silver. Rooted in nature, this palette is shaped with intention: rice-husk ash and its seasonal minerals yield whites with soft, earthy hues, freckles of fire, and subtle shifts in mood.

Asuka fires in the same high wood kiln as her partner, Tenshin Juba, extending the range of Japanese ceramics in our collection. For special occasions, she shapes pedestaled bowls, dishes framed by wide edges and delicate cups that unfold like flowers—each expanding the ritual of dining. The teapot, her daily essential, features bold, playful handles—a reminder that these works are meant to be enjoyed both in everyday life and on rare occasions.
