“Guided by ancient slipware traditions, alchemist-potter Tenshin Juba creates modern, functional, and decorative ceramics from his home-studio in the quiet mountainside of Kobe, Japan. This captivating two-piece Nesting Set highlights his rare, double-sided application process, where surface graphics are fluidly across both the inside and outside profiles of the clay walls. Tenshin gathers natural raw materials from his immediate landscape—including chestnut husks and mineral-rich rocks—turning them into liquid mineral glazes that he sweeps across the vessels with kinetic, pure gestures.
Every piece is intentionally hand-formed rather than cast, resulting in an entirely organic, one-of-a-kind shape where natural surface irregularities serve as the signature of the artist's hand.
